‘NCC polls is test case for BNP’
BNP will participate in the upcoming Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls despite its allegations that the ruling Awami League is trying to fix it.
BNP leader Khandokar Mosharraf Hossain said this while speaking at a press conference on ‘Construction of Rampal power plant and challenge for the Sundarbans’ at the National Press Club on Tuesday noon.
He said the BNP always wanted to participate in elections and it would. “We will take this one as a test case.”
He said the government was carrying out illegal activities to turn the election into a farce.
Presided over by Ashraf Uddin Bakul, the programme was addressed, among others, by BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, former VC of Dhaka University AFM Yusuf Haider, Assistant Organizing Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul and BNP leader KM Rakibul Islam Ripon.
